Key Of David

THE KEY OF DAVID opens up the genealogy line as well as the Levitical and King-ship of Melchizedek, A Priest-King of Jerusalem, who is our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. (Psalms 110:4). God has taken an oath and will not go back on His vow, that Christ is of that priest line like Melchizedek. Melchizadek is referred to as the king of Salem, thought by some to be Jerusalem, although Ezekiel seems to suggest otherwise, a priest. He is considered by some to be a type of the Messiah, while some view him as a theophany, or appearance of Christ. So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee? (Hebrews 5:5). Christ did not elect Himself to be high priest; He was chosen by God! In (Revelation 3:21), we are told that Jesus Christ sits with His Father on the Father's throne. This verse also states that Jesus Christ has a throne; a throne which He promises to share with those who overcome.

He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his Kingdom there shall be no end. (Luke 1:32-33). We are talking about the King of Kings and Lord of Lords who will physically sit on the Throne of King David, and will rule on earth from this throne forever! But, where is this throne today?

Let us look into the "Davidic Covenant" from the beginning. God had made a covenant with the descendants of Jacob, then called Israel. When they reached Mt. Sinai, in the peninsula wilderness, God made a covenant with them establishing them as a nation, "His Nation" among the kingdoms of the world. Their government was theocratic, with the civil, as well as the spiritual and religious laws, given directly from God. God Himself was their King and He ruled them by a system of judges. Soon they became dissatisfied with God as their King and demanded that a man should be their king as the Gentile nations around them.

And the Lord said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee; for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them. (1 Samuel 8:7). After they rejected God as their King, God appointed Saul as their King. Saul refused obedience to God, so God eventually rejected him. David succeeded Saul and sat on the Eternals throne and Solomon succeeded King David.

Jesus is both the root and the offspring of David. (Revelation 22:16). Since He is the root, the throne was His before David was born. David merely sat upon the Eternals throne. Since Jesus was David's lawful fleshly Son, this same throne shall once more become His right by inheritance, continuing David's dynasty. When Christ returns to earth, David's throne will be no doubt His full right. Remember (Luke 1:32), states that David's throne is actually Christ's throne.

The prophet Ezekiel prophesied that it would be overturned three times. "I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it to him" (Ezekiel 21:27). When Jesus returns His throne will be given back to Him.

Our question now would be; does this throne exist today, and where is the royal family occupying this throne? David's dynasty continued down to King Zedekiah, when, at that time, King Nebuchadnezzar took him captive to Babylon where he died in a dungeon. His sons were slain and it appeared that no one was left to continue the dynasty. But Jeremiah the prophet, living through all this, was given a special commission. See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant. (Jeremiah 1:10).

Jeremiah took the daughters of Zedekiah and replanted David's throne through them, in the land where the "lost ten tribes of Israel" had migrated. These daughters were Jeremiah's granddaughters. Zedekiah's mother was Jeremiah's daughter. Zedekiah was twenty-and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah. (2 Kings 24:17-18).

Stone Of Scone

The three overturns prophesied to occur, transferring this dynasty, took it to Ireland, then to Scotland, and finally to England, where it is today. Inside Westminster Abby in London, England, sits the old coronation chair on which the kings of Ireland, Scotland and England have been crowned. Under the chair is a stone that, until recently, was labeled Jacob's pillar-stone. (Genesis 28:18). Jacob had set this stone for a pillar symbolizing God's House. (Genesis 28:22).

The stone is also known as the "stone of Scone." Scone is the name of a monastery in Scotland. The king had the stone placed there in 1846. This stone of destiny and David's throne, rich in it's past history, will prove to be an integral part of the future solution to this world's cataclysmic problems. And it will stay there until Christ Himself comes, who's right it is.

At the Second Advent Second Coming of Christ, He will sit upon His throne and rule forever! (Zechariah 9:9, 9:10). Prophecy of the first and Second Advent. The Good News is that we may also sit with Him in His throne if we learn the knowledge of His Word and overcome the deception, temptation, and ways of the world.

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. (Revelation 3:21-22). Christ will let all who overcome Satan and the ways of the world sit beside Him, just as He sits with the Heavenly Father in Heaven. This Is Christ's Own Personal Message To Us... What an incredible opportunity we are being offered. But remember it is a conditional opportunity that we must first overcome, through the knowledge and wisdom of our Father's Word.

So, What an awesome Savior we have. A Priest-King of Jerusalem; Christ has come and entered the prison house. He took on the Laws death sentence. He stormed the gates of death and hell with His death. He turns the key to our prison cell. He is the key, the key that unlocks us from the Law and breaks the chains of death that bind us in fear. He sets us free to live as free children in His free city. Jesus is the key of David, who opens and no one can close, who closes and no one can open.

Keep the faith,
