Matthew 28 - The Resurrection and Commission to The Disciples
Go and tell the disciples that He is risen from the dead and He has gone to Galilee to meet them there. The disciples left for Galilee, going to the mountain where Jesus had said they would find Him. It was there that Jesus would teach His disciples to spread the Good News to all Nations of the world.
In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. This would have been Sunday morning as the new day was dawning.
And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. An angel of the Lord, "the Lord's presence itself."
His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: A glorious arrangement that beamed like lightning.
And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. The guards shook with fear and passed out at His presence.
And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. The angel new they were looking for Jesus, but why here?
He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. He is not here the angel replied; He is risen, and took them into the tomb to see.
And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. Go and tell the disciples that He is risen from the dead and He has gone to Galilee to meet them there.
And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. The woman ran from the tomb with fear (reverence), but were filled with joy because they had good news for the disciples.
And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. As they were running to the disciples with the good news, suddenly Jesus was there in front of them. They stopped, fell to their knees, and began to worship Him. (Profound reverence).
Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me. Jesus told them again, go to Galilee. How many times He repeated this. Just as the word repeats itself to us so we can grasp the truth. (Sometimes it takes a while to sink in).
Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done. The guards who had been guarding the tomb went to the chief priests to tell them what had happened. The problem is that they passed out and kind of missed what went on. So, here is their story.
And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers, The chief priests paid the guards off to keep their mouths shut on what really happened and fabricated their own story. (Probably the Kenites who paid the guards off).
Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept. The guards story was that they fell asleep and the disciples came during the night and stole His body. Many still believe this fabrication today. There has even been a book written on the subject called "The Passion Plot."
And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you. If the governor finds out about our little plot, we will stand up for you and pay the fine and protect you, the council promised.
So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day. The guards accepted the bribe and said what they were told to say. There story spread widely among the Jews, and is still believed by many of them to this very day. Remember this was arranged by the Kenites, "sons of Cain" (those of the synagogue of Satan), not our brother Judah. (Revelation 2:9), those who claim to be of our brother Judah.
Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. The disciples left for Galilee, going to the mountain where Jesus had said they would find Him.
And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. Some were not sure it was Jesus. "Thomas doubted."
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. All power in heaven and earth. Never fear when you are of Christ. As it is written in (Zechariah 9:9-10), The first advent of Christ, He came as a babe riding upon a colt. And at His second advent, He will have dominion from sea to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teach His word. All ethnos (all nations, all people), Baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Teach these new disciples all things in His Word. "All of it." "And be sure that I will be with you till the end of the world." (End of this world age). Amen. (That's That).
Keep the faith,
Barton
